In 1991 Jennifer Horn started working after school at a plant nursery in Northern Virginia. She has been studying or working in the landscape design field since. From 1999 until 2009 Jennifer practiced landscape architecture in New York City. During this time, she worked on high-end residences in the City, as well as in the Hamptons, Connecticut and properties as far afield as Colorado, California, Hawaii, Barcelona and Mustique.

Since founding JHLA in 2009, Jennifer continues to design luxury landscapes for residences in the DC/MD/VA area as well as beach and country homes in West Virginia, Delaware, New York and the Eastern Shore. Jennifer’s designs are guided by a passion for thoughtful, edited concepts, rigorous detailing, as well as active collaboration with all members of the design/construction team.
