Annie’s Online Card-Making
Wouldn’t you agree that card making, or any craft for that matter, is a lot like life in this regard? We hear about the newest trend or technique, we have lots of fun testing our skills with this new thing and despite some mistakes, we learn so much in the process!
A few months ago, I happened across information about an interesting-sounding workshop on making sun prints, also known as cyanotype prints. Since the workshop was going to be held at a new-to-me studio and that I’d never tried sun printing, I was in! And, because she lives conveniently close by, CardMaker contributor Deborah Nolan joined me for the fun evening workshop. As with any great class, we made a few new friends and discovered an interesting technique that brought a fresh twist to our card making. Check out Deborah’s Sun Prints for Cards article in this issue to learn how easy and fun sun-printing techniques can be! I’ve picked up a few packets of the specialty paper and plan to introduce my youngest daughter and a few of her friends to this technique as a bit of creative summertime learning.
Are you are experimenting with any new card-making techniques this summer? WI’d love to hear about your creative adventures and see photos of the projects you’re making! Be sure to share a post on our Facebook or Instagram page, or drop me a note at Editor@CardMakerMagazine.com.
Until next time,
