Wad­dle I Do With­out You?

1.

Form a 41/4 x 51/2-inch card from yel­low card­stock.

2.

Cut a 33/4 x 51/2-inch panel from water­color pa­per.

3.

Re­fer­ring to photo, brush wa­ter onto water­color panel where you want wa­ter tex­ture. Dab Dis­tress inks onto acrylic block; pick up color with brush and ap­ply it to panel where wet. Place stencil over wet area and let dry.

Use black ink to stamp im­ages onto an­other piece of water­color pa­per; sprin­kle em­boss­ing pow­der over im­ages and heat-set. Color im­ages with mark­ers and die-cut.

Stamp sen­ti­ment onto water­color panel with black ink. 6.

Ad­here im­ages onto panel us­ing foam dots as de­sired.

7.

Cut a 1/2 x 51/2-inch piece of striped pa­per; ad­here to back of panel, leav­ing a striped strip vis­i­ble along left edge as shown. Ad­here panel to card front with right edges even.

Decorate in­side of card as de­sired.

Form a 71/2 x 5-inch card from water­color pa­per us­ing deckle edge as bot­tom edge of card front. Note: Score pa­per well be­fore fold­ing so pa­per doesn’t “break.” 2.

Cut two 8 x 6-inch rec­tan­gles from water­color pa­per. Die-cut “Spring” from a sep­a­rate piece of water­color pa­per.

Use paint­brush to spread clean wa­ter across bot­tom half of one 8 x 6-inch water­color panel; add yel­low paint to cre­ate a pale wash. Add dots of green as de­sired, al­low­ing col­ors to blend. Let dry.

Work­ing with same panel, spread clean wa­ter across top edge of wa­ter­col­ored sec­tion. Di­lute blue and red wa­ter­col­ors on pal­ette and dot them into wet wash, al­low­ing col­ors to blend and cre­at­ing the look of flow­ers. Let dry. Trim to 7 x 4 inches.

Paint sec­ond water­color panel with a wash of green and yel­low; let dry. Trim to 71/4 x 41/4 inches. 6.

Paint “Spring” die cut with green and yel­low; let dry. Use mini ad­he­sive dots to ad­here word to smaller water­color panel. Note: If dots are too large, roll them in your fin­gers to make them smaller.

7.

Cut a 73/8 x 43/8-inch panel from pink card­stock.

8.

Layer and ad­here all pan­els to card front us­ing foam tape for first and third lay­ers.

9. Decorate in­side of card as de­sired.
