Se­cret Cole Slaw

The se­cret here is to add one golden de­li­cious ap­ple to the slaw. This makes a great, cool summer treat. Make this up the day be­fore a pic­nic or any din­ner. 1 small head of cab­bage (red or reg­u­lar) 2—3 car­rots (look for sweet or­ganic car­rots) 1 medium onion (use a red onion for color and more sweet­ness) 1 golden de­li­cious ap­ple (the se­cret in­gre­di­ent) — use the peal as well as the ap­ple 1 tea­spoon cel­ery seed 2 ta­ble­spoons sugar (or­ganic if pos­si­ble) 1 ta­ble­spoon ap­ple cider vine­gar 1/2 cup may­on­naise

Chop cab­bage, car­rots, onion, and ap­ple by hand or in a in food pro­ces­sor. You can also use a grater to end up with a finer slaw.

Trans­fer all in­gre­di­ents to large mix­ing bowl.

Add cel­ery seed, sugar, vine­gar, and may­on­naise. Add salt and pep­per to taste. Stir un­til well blended.

Re­frig­er­ate un­til chilled and ready to serve. Serves four to six peo­ple.
