This year the Pie-o-neer 4H club is in full force. We had our first meeting on April 1, 2015 and elected officers. Our 2015/2016 officers are President- Jintry Jo Albin, Vice President-Luz Vargas, Treasurer-Raistlin Showers, Secretary-Tamera Hutton, Reporter-Jack GeorgeWomack, and Song and Recreation Leaders-Jessica and Kyle Lamb. We are going to be helping the community as much as possible with community service projects throughout the year.

We had a bake sale for a fundraiser at the Pie Town Rodeo Association event. We had lots of fun shooting pellet guns, dummy roping and winning pies. Thank you to the Pie Town Rodeo Association for inviting us.

We sent two of our members, Raistlin Showers and Kyle Lamb to District completion in Shooting Sports. Thank you John and Eileen Dodds for all your support and patience. We couldn’t do it without you. We also had a concession stand at the Quemado Youth Bull Riding. This was a huge success and we had a great time. Thank you Ricky Chavez for allowing us to be there.

We are selling Blue Ribbons in honor of Ricky and his battle with Prostate Cancer. All proceeds are donated to the Cowboy for Cancer Research Foundation. Let one of our members know if you are interested in purchasing one for a $5 donation.

We also participated in many activities on the Fourth of July, and keep an eye out for us in future events. We will keep you updated on our activities and we greatly appreciate everyone’s support.
