SW Green Job Task Force

As part of his trip through SW New Mex­ico for meet­ings and events fo­cused on build­ing the econ­omy and cre­at­ing jobs in Ca­tron County and across the state, US Sen­a­tor Tom Udall chaired a meet­ing of the South­west New Mex­ico En­ergy and Green Jobs Task Force at Western New Mex­ico Univer­sity on Oc­to­ber 16. Ini­ti­ated by former Sen. Jeff Binga­man and now sup­ported by Udall and Sen. Martin Hein­rich, the task force holds quar­terly meet­ings to bring to­gether lo­cal lead­ers from Ca­tron, Luna, Grant, and Hi­dalgo coun- ties to col­lab­o­rate on job cre­ation and en­ergy ef­fi­ciency in SW New Mex­ico. In June, Udall helped the re­gion se­cure a $250,000 grant from the Eco­nomic De­vel­op­ment Ad­min­is­tra­tion to pro­mote en­trepreneur­ship and busi­ness de­vel­op­ment.
