BLM Permits for Xmas Trees

Catron Courier - - Front Page -

Christmas tree permits are available until December 23 for a cost of $5 at all BLM offices including Albuquerque, Socorro, Taos, Farmington, Las Cruces, and Santa Fe. For a list of BLM office locations, visit blm.gov/ nm/st/en/info/directory.html.

Maps, obtained when purchasing the permit, will show tree hunters where lands open to tree cutting are located. Tree permits are for sale on many parcels of public lands in the State. When transporting a tree taken from BLM public land, the permit must be at- tached to the tree.

Additionally, this year, any fourth grader who has signed up for the Every Kid in a Park Program is eligible to receive a free permit. Just present your pass to the BLM office to obtain a free tree permit. For more information about this, visit everykidinaparg.gov or call McKinney Briske at 575525-4334.
