Datil Ele­men­tary stu­dents en­joyed the af­ter­noon of Oc­to­ber 15, 2015 by per­form­ing their Decla­ma­tion skits and speeches. Sev­eral fam­i­lies were in at­ten­dance and the stu­dents are to be ap­plauded on their pre­sen­ta­tions and the hard work, time and com­mit­ment they put into their skits. Win­ners are:

Grades k-3, First – Colton Platt (Brand­ing Time), Sec­ond- Chisum Har­ri­ett (Big John), Third – Nia Haf­fey (The Rat­tle Snake)

Grades 4-6, First – Ari­cella Real (Phantom 309), Sec­ond – Mary El­iz­a­beth Russo (The Lost Girl), Third – De­siree Blake­more (Fire & Ice)

Over­all All-Around— Har­vey Platt (The Ranch Rig)

Af­ter­wards, the Datil Fire Depart­ment dis­cussed fire pre­ven­tion within the home with the par­ents in at­tend- ance. Mean­while the stu­dents were in­tro­duced to the pro­ce­dures of the fire en­gine and am­bu­lance. It was also stressed how im­por­tant it is to con­tact 911 dur­ing an emer­gency.

The stu­dents are also to be highly praised for work­ing dili­gently and have be­come more com­fort­able with the chal­lenges in their new grade lev­els.
