Apache Creek Fire Awareness

Catron Courier - - Front Page - by Apache Creek VFD

We hosted our Annual Fire Awareness/Halloween Party and would like to thank everyone for coming out and showing support. The kids had a blast and everyone ate well. Shout outs to the Catron County fire departments who came out and supported the event—it was nice to have Quemado VFD and Pie Town VFD join us.

Special thanks to our County Manager Kate Fletcher for coming out and cooking up the burgers. Thanks to Sher Brown who is a part of Quemado VFD, she helped out tremendously and added lots of laughs by bringing Sparky the Fire Dog. It was nice to see everyone and equally as nice to see the members of our fire family come together as one team. Together we maintain unity and have fun and excitement.

We Value Your Donations!

We would like to thank Jimbo Williams at AG Propane for their generous donation of matching the donation amount and for also being involved with our Junior Firefighter Program. Thanks to all of you who donated to our cause, your participation and contributions are greatly appreciated, in turn allows us to make these events possible.

We ask why has it been extremely hard to get kids involved with the Junior Firefighter Program.

The program has so much to offer, not to mention the hands on tasks you learn to build confidence and self-esteem. It also offers the opportunity to show future employers just how responsible you are. The extra added bonus: it looks great on a job or college application!
