San Francisco 4-H News
On May 26, the San Francisco Valley 4-H members, along with others in the community cleaned up both Glenwood and Alma cemetery. We did this to honor our veterans and to show respect to our community.
The meeting that was to be held on June 12 was canceled due to the absence of many. June 4 to 7, Carly Parnell attended Horse School to enhance her horsemanship. We did have a meeting July 10 and discussed new and old business.
Lori Robertson gave a report about her experience at the Youth Ranch Management Camp. Carly Parnell gave a report about her exciting experience at Horse School. All of the 4-H members who attended gave their project reports. The date was not finalized, but we expect the Project Tour to be held sometime before the fair. We also discussed the food and beverages we would sell at the concession stand during the Fair.
We were told the deadline to sign up for the Fair is August 1. The next county council meeting was held July 23 at the Mckeen's residence; Frito pie was served and the council members brought side dishes. We also discussed the Catron County Classic Livestock Jackpot, held on July 28 at the Reserve Fairground, and the clean-up day for the Catron County Fair which is August 11 at 8:00 AM.
