Even when she’s not appearing as B&B’S Shirley or working on outside TV projects, Patrika Darbo is still deeply entrenched in the television world as governor to the Television Academy’s Performers Peer Group. In this elected position, the actress works directly with fellow governor Lily Tomlin to help represent TV performers and tackle issues pertaining to the industry. “It’s a lot of work,” Darbo concedes of the gig. “My schedule is crazy, but I like to keep busy.” Darbo also likes that the leadership role allows her to use a part of her brain different from the one she uses when acting. If she could offer up one piece of advice, what would it be? “Use your brain as much as possible,” she exclaims. “The brain is a muscle that needs to be worked, and lord knows it’s the only one I’m exercising right now!”
Darbo is even busier off screen than she is on!
