Painful Exit

CBS Soaps In Depth - - The Young & The Restless -

THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Joshua Morrow (Nick) has been a superfan of THE WALKING DEAD and its main character, Rick, since the show’s debut. So like everyone else, he was bummed when Rick’s portrayer, Andrew Lincoln, announced he’d be leaving the zombie drama. “Rick Grimes is the greatest character that has ever been written, and nobody else could have played him,” insists Morrow. “I watch him with such jealousy! The way his character has gone through this unbelievable journey… it kills me that he’s leaving!” Still, Morrow says that he understands Lincoln’s decision. “When you think about what it must take to play such a character year in and year out — it takes a toll! It’s an emotionally grinding character, with Rick being the group’s leader, saving everyone, fighting his own demons and staying sane. It’s gotta be the most exhausting thing in the world for an actor to do, so I get why he decided to leave. But as a die- hard DEAD fan, I feel the pain and wonder how the show will go on without him!”

“I think THE WALKING DEAD needs me to go in and help Daryl save the day!” suggests Morrow.
