Elk­more Road home de­stroyed by fire

— A home in the 100 block of Elk­more Road was de­stroyed by a two- alarm fire, the ori­gin of which in­ves­ti­ga­tors have not yet been de­ter­mined, in­ves­ti­ga­tors said Tues­day.

The blaze was re­ported just af­ter 3 a. m. Mon­day. The ranch- style home at 118 Elk­more Road sus­tained $ 118,000 in dam­age, ac­cord­ing to the Of­fice of the Mar yland State Fire Mar­shal.

The owner of the home, Howard Hunter IV, dis­cov­ered the fire, which be­gan on the rear deck. Singerly Fire Com­pany needed an hour to get the blaze un­der con­trol.
