Brice Johnson, North Carolina NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS

Cecil Whig - - SPORTS -

2015-16 Record: 32–6, 14–4 ACC Head Coach: Roy Williams (eighth Final Four) Projected Starters: G – Marcus Paige (12.3 ppg, 3.7 apg, 34.5 3-pt FG%), G – Joel Berry (12.8 ppg, 3.6 apg, 37.6 3-pt FG%), F – Justin Jackson (12.2 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.9 rpg), F – Brice Johnson (17.1 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 1.5 bpg), F – Kennedy Meeks (9.2 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 55.4 FG%) Will win the national title if... Marcus Paige heats up. Brice Johnson is North Carolina’s best player. That said, it’s tough to envision Carolina winning a title without Paige playing a major part. The senior guard hit 6-of-9 3-pointers against Indiana but went 7-of-18 in the Heels’ other three NCAA Tournament games. North Carolina won both meetings against Syracuse this year but shot only 22 percent (9-of-41) from 3 in those games. Will lose to Syracuse on Saturday if... several things go wrong. North Carolina is playing like a national champion right now, and the Tar Heels draw a No. 10 seed they already beat twice during the regular season. Syracuse would need several breaks to go its way to pull the upset, but Virginia probably thought the same thing. Foul trouble for Johnson and a bad shooting day en masse for North Carolina would open the door for the Orange.
