Thumbs down

Cecil Whig - - OPINION -

To the senseless bloodshed that ended March. On Saturday, multiple people entered an Elktonarea home and fatally shot a 22-year-old man before fleeing. Maryland State Police continues to investigate that case, which was all the more harrowing because four children were present in the home during the incident. Then less than 48 hours later, a man gunned down his stepmother and stepbrother near Elkton in a “planned” attack because he had issues with them over his late father’s inheritance, according to police. The troubled man later allegedly told a relative that he did “something very bad and hurt people,” and was turned over to police. The violence unfortunately marks the first violent deaths in Cecil County this year after the county saw seven homicides last year. We can only hope that this bloodshed is the last that residents see for the rest of 2016.
