Bohemia Manor edges Perryville in baseball
Bohemia Manor defeated visiting Perryville 8-6 in Susquehanna Division baseball action on Wednesday.
Gage Walklett went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs and Josh Heath doubled and scored three runs for the Eagles (3-0 overall, 1-0 division), who received a win on the mound from pitcher Anthony Marut.
The Panthers (0-3, 0-1) were tied 6-6 entering the bottom of the fifth inning.
Elks fall to Mustangs
Elkton fell to visiting C.M. Wright 4-2 in Chesapeake Division baseball action on Wednesday.
Mike Moran threw six innings and gave up two earned runs while adding a hit and scoring on offense for the Golden Elks (1-2 overall, 0-1 division), who received RBI singles from both Nick Gregson and Troy Cherwaty.
The Mustangs improve to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the upper division.
Tigers upended by Bobcats
Rising Sun fell to host Bel Air 12-2 in six innings in Chesapeake Division baseball action on Wednesday.
The Tigers (1-2 overall, 0-1 division) managed three hits and trailed 10-2 after two innings.
Jack Jenkens belted a double and a home run and Michael Koski also connected for a home run for the Bobcats (3-0, 1-0).
Indians top Aberdeen in barnburner
North East continued its torrid start to the season Wednesday, topping visiting Aberdeen 12-11 in nine innings in Susquehanna Division baseball action and picking up its fourth win through the first five games.
Peyton Hoskins went 3-4 with three runs, Charlie O’Brien went 2-3 with two runs and Cameron Blankenship went 4-6 with two runs for the Indians (4-1 overall, 1-0 division), who received two hits each from Colt Price and Chase Hollister.
On the mound, Hoskins threw the final two innings and picked up the win.
Andrew Brndjar went 3-6 with three RBIs, Sam Smith finished 3-6 with a triple, two doubles and two RBIs and Jack Smith added two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs for the Eagles (0-3, 0-1).
UCBAC Softball Tigers can’t solve Bobcats
Rising Sun fell to host Bel Air 4-1 in Chesapeake Division softball action on Wednesday.
Paige Bradford singled and scored, Emily Consiglio also singled and Lexi Osborne re- corded the lone RBI for the Tigers (2-1 overall, 0-1 division).
Reagan Connell provided a complete-game effort for Rising Sun from the circle, finishing with eight hits, two strikeouts and one walk over seven innings.
Kat Perea finished with two triples and three RBIs, Amanda Criss added two hits and Morgan Dvorak recorded an RBI single for the Bobcats (3-0, 1-0).
North East earns shutout
Molly Dill struck out 13 batters, issued two walks and allowed three hits to help lead North East to a 7-0 victory over visiting Aberdeen in Susquehanna Division softball action on Wednesday.
Dill finished 3-3 at the plate and Olivia Martin blasted a two-run home run for the Indians (1-2 overall, 1-0 division), who received one hit each from Kaitlyn Stewart, Paige Yedinak and Jess Choplinsky.
The Eagles fall to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in the lower division.
Elks fall to Huskies
Elkton fell to host Patterson Mill 7-1 in Susquehanna Division softball action on Wednesday.
Amanda Simpson connected for an RBI triple, driving in Cierra Young, who singled and stole second for the Golden Elks (0-3 overall, 0-1 division).
Lacey Breeden finished with two home runs, four RBIs and a walk, Nayai Gilbert reached four times with three runs and Abby Laurentius added two hits and an RBI for the Huskies (1-3, 1-0), who received a completegame effort from Katie Williams (seven innings, three hits, three strikeouts and two walks).
UCBAC Boys’ Lacrosse Panthers sink Mariners
Perryville defeated host Joppatowne 9-5 in non-divisional boys’ lacrosse action on Wednesday.
Nick Roberts registered three goals and two assists, Nick Ports and Ryan Bedard each recorded two goals and an assist and Drew Crouse and Jamie McCrary each scored once for the Panthers (2-1), who received one assists each from Ray Woods, Jarrett Bowman and Joe Perry.
Carlos Cortez, Nick Clingerman, Thomas Mal, Joshua John and Derren Thompson all scored once for the Mariners (0-1), who trailed 5-0 at halftime.
UCBAC Boys’ Lacrosse Tigers stay unbeaten
Rising Sun defeated host Oxford Area (Pa.) in non-conference boys’ lacrosse action on Tuesday.
Connor Burkhardt led the Tigers (3-0) with seven goals and two assists, while Brad Alexander scored twice and handed out four assists, Austin Philistine had two goals with an assist and Quinn Struble and defenseman Ethan Greene both recorded a goal and an assist.
Wyatt Griffith, Stephan Szkalak and Kalman Szkalak all added a goal in the victory.
UCBAC Baseball Indians edge Easton
North East defeated host Easton 4-3 in non-conference baseball action on Tuesday.
Cameron Blankenship scattered six hits and recorded five strikeouts with three unearned runs to earn the win the in five innings for the Indians, who received two hits and a run from Peyton Hoskins and one RBI each from Colt Price, Chase Hollister and Tyler Robinson.
Alex Goodyear threw the final two innings to earn the save in the victory.

Youth Soccer Kickers place 2nd in tournament
The Cecil Kickers earned second place in the Nether United Spring Invitational in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
Saylor Bare scored the lone goal for Cecil off an assist from Kylie Narvell in a 3-1 loss to FC Revolution Liberty to open the tournament. The Kickers then rebounded to win their next contest, beating ASA Blast 2-0 behind goals from Bare and Narvell and assists from Gabriella Pileggi and Summer Davis.
Bare scored twice more and Narvell (assist) also found the net, while Davis added two assists in the Kickers’ 3-0 win over Providence Fury to cap the tournament. Goalie Shadai Givens posted a pair of shutouts in goal with help from defenders Kayla Morton, Lexi Bunk and Zoe Mace.
