Mary Jane McCall, 70, of Elk­ton, MD, passed away Sun­day, April 3, 2016. Born in Elk­ton on Nov. 27, 1945, she was the daugh­ter of the late Paul and Mary Howard Costello.

M rs . McCall, a sec­re­tary, re­tired from Chrysler Cor­po­ra­tion, Ne­wark, DE, where she had worked for 35 years. She was a mem­ber of UAW 1183, Ne­wark. She en­joyed spend­ing time with her fam­ily, bowl­ing, bak­ing and was a Bal­ti­more Ravens fan.

Sur­vivors in­clude her hus­band of 43 years, Thomas J. McCall; sons, Michael VanDenHeu­vel (Terry), Elk­ton, MD, Barry VanDenHeu­vel (Stacy), Aberdeen, MD and Joseph McCall (Bethany), Northamp­ton, PA; grand­chil­dren, Holly and Ali­son VanDenHeu­vel and Alyssa, Ja­cob and Ad­di­son McCall and her aunt, Lil­lian McGet­ti­gan.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be­gin at 5 p.m., Thurs­day, April 7 at Hicks Home for Fu­ner­als, 103 West Stock­ton St., Elk­ton, MD 21921, with fu­neral ser­vice at 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of flow­ers, con­tri­bu­tions may be made to Mary Jane McCall Me­mo­rial Fund in care of the fu­neral home at the above ad­dress.


Sur­vivors in­clude her lov­ing hus­band: Kapil Patnaik of Falls Church, VA; her fa­ther and step­mother: Dr. Joseph Gwiaz­dowski (Elaine) of North East, MD; one brother: Eric T. Gwiaz­dowski of Truc­kee, CA; pa­ter­nal grand­par­ents: Joseph J. and Ruth M. Gwiaz­dowski of Ne­wark, DE; ma­ter­nal grand­mother: Mar­garet Ward of Perry Hall, MD; her in-laws: Cdr. S.K. Patnaik and Atasi Patnaik of Mum­bai, In­dia; her broth­erin-law: Raghavendra Patnaik (Pre­mashree Sat­yarup) of Mum­bai, In­dia; and her grand­par­ents-in-law: Sarada Prasad Par­ija and Khi­ro­dra Par­ija of Bhubaneswar, In­dia.

She was pre­ceded in death by her mother: Gail Lynn (Ward) Gwiaz­dowski and her pa­ter­nal grand­fa­ther: Alvin F. Ward.

A Mass of Chris­tian Burial will be held Satur­day, April 9, 11 a.m. at St. Jude’s Ro­man Catholic Church, 928 Tur­key Point Road, North East, MD, where vis­i­ta­tion will be­gin at 9 a.m. un­til ser­vice time.

In­ter­ment will fol­low in North East Methodist Ceme­tery, North East, MD.
