Michael J. O’Brien, 74, of Elk­ton, MD, passed away peace­fully at his home. Born July 14, 1941 in Philadel­phia, PA, Michael was the son of the late Wil­liam and Anna (Boyle) O’Brien.

Michael is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife, Anna Marie O’Brien; daugh­ters, Linda Sex­ton and Donna Piluso and her hus­band, Anthony; four grand­chil­dren, Jes­sica and Tony Sex­ton and An­to­nio and Ni­cole Piluso; one great grand­son, Shane Matthew Sex­ton; brother, Ed­ward O’Brien; and his two sis­ters, Elaine McKer­nan and Kath­leen Dar­rah. In­clud­ing his par­ents, he was also pre­ceded in death by his son, Fran­cis Wil­liam O’Brien.

A Mass of Chris­tian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on April 7, 2016 at St. Mar­garet of Scot­land Ro­man Catholic Church, 2431 Frazer Road, Ne­wark, DE 19702, where fam­ily and friends may visit be­gin­ning at 10 a.m. Burial will be held Fri­day, April 8 at Sun­set Me­mo­rial Park, 333 W. County Line Road, Hunt­ing­don Val­ley, PA 19006 at ap­prox­i­mately 11:30 a.m., where all are in­vited to meet for the com­mit­tal ser­vice.

In lieu of flow­ers, me­mo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made payable to St. Mar­garet of Scot­land Ro­man Catholic Church or to Amedisys Hos­pice and sent in care of R.T. Foard Fu­neral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elk­ton, MD 21921.
