Panthers keep rolling, down Mus­tangs in soft­ball


Per­ryville main­tained its per­fect start to the sea­son Mon­day, top­ping host C.M. Wright 5-3 in Ch­e­sa­peake Divi­sion soft­ball ac­tion to claim its fifth-straight win.

Trail­ing 3-0 af­ter four in­nings, the Panthers (5-0 over­all, 3-0 divi­sion) scored four times in the fifth in­ning and once more in the sev­enth to emerge vic­to­ri­ous.

Ly­dia Hill (run) knocked in three runs on three hits, in­clud­ing a dou­ble, and Am­ber Keene also drove in a run for Per­ryville, while pitcher Emily Phillips scat­tered eight hits and one walk while strik­ing out three in a com­plete-game ef­fort.

A pair of costly er­rors on the first two plays of the fifth in­ning con­trib­uted to the loss for the Mus­tangs (3-1, 1-1), who com­bined to hit three dou­bles on the af­ter­noon.

Ea­gles tame Bob­cats

Rachel Jones gave up three runs (one earned) over 6 1-3 in­nings to help lead Bo­hemia Manor past vis­it­ing Bel Air 4-3 in Ch­e­sa­peake Divi­sion soft­ball ac­tion on Mon­day.

Zoe Lock­wood (run) fin­ished 3-3 with two dou­bles and an RBI and Me­gan Horsey drove in a run on two hits for the Ea­gles (5-1 over­all, 2-1 divi­sion), who re­ceived an RBI from Tay­lor Ab­sha­gen, a triple and a run from Melinda Mor­gan, a dou­ble and a run from Anna Tid­aback and a sin­gle and a run scored from Mor­gan Mullin.

Gwen Markowski went 3-4 with a dou­ble and an RBI sin­gle, while Sarah Fleis­chmann, Ari­anna Dramis and Mor­gan Dvo­rak all fin­ished with two hits for the Bob­cats (3-1, 1-1).

Dill throws no-hit­ter as In­di­ans win big

Molly Dill threw a no­hit­ter as North East blasted vis­it­ing Pat­ter­son Mill 10-0 in five in­nings in Susque­hanna Divi­sion soft­ball ac­tion on Mon­day.

Dill is­sued zero walks and struck out nine of the 15 bat­ters she faced from the cir­cle, while at the plate she went 3-4 with a triple two runs scored and an RBI for the In­di­ans (3-2 over­all, 3-0 divi­sion), who re­ceived a two-RBI triple and two runs scored from Kait­lyn Stew- art, four RBIs and a run scored on two hits from Jess Cho­plinksy and a two-run sin­gle off the bat of Kaylea Palmer.

The Huskies fall to 2-4 over­all and 2-1 in the lower divi­sion.

UCBAC Base­ball Elks edge Co­bras

Elk­ton de­feated vis­it­ing Har­ford Tech 4-3 in Ch­e­sa­peake Divi­sion base­ball ac­tion on Mon­day.

Mike Mo­ran picked up the win on the mound, al­low­ing one earned run over five in­nings for the Golden Elks (2-3 over­all, 1-2 divi­sion), who re­ceived a two-run sin­gle from Troy Cher­waty and an RBI sin­gle from Anthony Alexan­der.

Kyle Spencer (one in­ning pitched), Nick Greg­son (save) and Nathan Bakeoven all added sin­gles and scored a run in the vic­tory.

Tigers fall to Hawks

Ris­ing Sun fell to host North Har­ford 3-1 in five in­nings in Ch­e­sa­peake Divi­sion base­ball ac­tion on Mon­day.

The Tigers fall to 1-4 over­all and 0-3 in the up­per di­vi­son.

Colin Bowl­ing struck out seven while giv­ing up three hits over five in­nings for the Hawks (4-2, 1-2).

Panthers win big

Per­ryville de­feated host Jop­pa­towne 14-0 in five in­nings in Susque­hanna Divi­sion base­ball ac­tion on Mon­day.

Jake El­dreth and Brady Krahn both drove in two runs, Kody Brown scored twice and seven other play­ers con­trib­uted an RBI for the Panthers (2-3 over­all, 2-1 divi­sion), who re­ceived a vic­tory on the mound from Zach Strong.


Youth Soc­cer Kick­ers earn shutout

The Ce­cil Kick­ers scored four times in the sec­ond half to de­feat the MDSL Fire 4-0 over the week­end.

Gabriella Pi­leggi scored twice, Say­lor Bare scored once and dished out two as­sists and Kam­ryn Marcinke­vich net­ted a goal off an as­sist from Kylie Narvell for Ce­cil, which re­ceived six saves from goalie Shadai Givens and stel­lar de­fense from de­fender Abby Cocco, Kayla Mor­ton, Zoe Mace and Erika Clarke.
