Harold Ed­ward Diem, 93, of Jen­nersville, PA, for­merly of Fair Hill, MD, passed away Satur­day, April 9, 2016. Born in Unionville, PA on Septem­ber 6, 1922, he was the son of the late Clarence E. and E. Mae Sharp Diem.

A 1939 grad­u­ate of Ox­ford High School, Ox­ford, PA and 1951 grad­u­ate of Bea­com Col­lege, Wilm­ing­ton DE, Mr. Diem was a vet­eran of the U.S. Army where he at­tained the rank of Sergeant. He worked at Lukens Steel, Coatesville, PA while op­er­at­ing the fam­ily farm in Cochranville, PA. He was em­ployed as an ac­coun­tant for Franco Wy­oming Oil Com­pany, Wilm­ing­ton and then Avi­sun Corp. which later be­came Amoco where he was an ac­coun­tant and man­ager of the stores ware­house for six­teen years. He re­tired in 1982.

Mr. Diem was a Past Master of Sk­er­rett Lodge No. 343 F&AM, Cochranville, PA, where he had been a mem­ber for more than 70 years, and a mem­ber of Rock Pres­by­te­rian Church, Fair Hill for over fifty years where he had served as Clerk of the Ses­sion. He also man­aged Sharp’s Ceme­tery, Fair Hill. He was a mem­ber of the Amer­i­can Rose So­ci­ety and en­joyed grow­ing roses and shar­ing the bou­quets with friends and neigh­bors.

In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, Mr. Diem was pre­ceded in death by his wife, Ruth Moore Diem and sis­ter, Jane Pearl.

Sur­vivors in­clude his sis­ters, El­iz­a­beth Den­nis, West Grove, PA, Dorothy Keihm (Neil), and Nancy Christy, all of Jen­nersville, PA.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be 11 a.m., Wed­nes­day, April 13, at Rock Pres­by­te­rian Church, 30 Rock Church Road, Fair Hill, MD. Vis­i­ta­tion will be­gin at 10 a.m. and in­ter­ment will be in Sharp’s Ceme­tery.
