Out­doors or­ga­ni­za­tions sought for up­com­ing recre­ation day

— Out­door en­thu­si­ast clubs, groups and or­ga­ni­za­tions are be­ing sought to par­tic­i­pate in a May 14 event de­signed to pro­mote recre­ation.


“We just want to draw ev­ery­one’s at­ten­tion to all the ac­tiv­i­ties around Conowingo and Ce­cil County,” said Jeff Coale, or­ga­nizer of the new Conowingo Out­doors Day.

Spear­headed by the Conowingo Lions Club, Coale said the event is set to run from 8 a.m. un­til 1 p.m. at the park on Route 222 south of the Conowingo Dam.

“Every­thing will be free to the pub­lic and the ex­hibitors,” Coale said Mon­day.

Groups not only from Ce­cil County, but also from neigh­bor­ing Har­ford and Lan­caster, Pa., coun­ties are wel­come, Coale said.

“We’re look­ing for 4-H, Scouts, any group that does any type of out­door ac­tiv­ity,” he said.
