N.E. police seize heroin
— More than 2,000 bags of heroin were found when police searched a home in the 200 block of South Main Street early Thursday morning.
Cpl. Stephen Yates with the North East Police Department said officers from his agency were joined by the Maryland State Police Gang Unit and Cecil County Drug
Task Force in the 5 a.m. seizure at a rental property.
“We’d been watching the house. The neighbors had been complaining,” Yates said.
James Eastridge, 49, the resident of the home, was charged with possession with intent to distribute, possession, possession of large amounts, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a nuisance. Three Pennsylvania men were also charged.
Possession and distribution charges were leveled against Nicholas Sutton, 23, from Philadelphia; and Guymore Rookwood, 28, from Reading, Pa. Kenneth Major, 30, also from Philadelphia, faces two possession charges.
Along with the drugs, police also seized a large amount of cash, Yates said.
“A woman from Delaware was also locked up on an outstanding warrant,” Yates added
