Robert L. Bour Sr., 89, of North East, MD, died Mon­day, April 18, 2016 in the Chris­tiana Hospi­tal, Ne­wark, DE.

Born in Wi l k i n s - burg, PA, on Febr uar y 12, 1927, he was the son of the late John and Velma N. (Yea­ger) Bour. He was the hus­band of the late Ber­nice M. Bour.

Robert served his country proudly dur­ing World War II in the Army. Af­ter the war ended, he served the rest of his en­list­ment with the Army’s Alaska Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Sys­tem.

He re­tired from the U.S. Govern­ment, Ag De­part­ment work­ing as a Civil En­gi­neer.

He was a proud Penn State Alumni; en­joyed paint­ing, and was a master tin­kerer, mak­ing many in­ter­est­ing things.

Sur­vivors in­clude his two sons: Kirk S. Bour (Eve) of Aberdeen, MD and Eric Bour; two grand­chil­dren: Nathan Bour and Rachel Bour; and a sis­ter: Betty John­son of At­lanta, GA.

In ad­di­tion to his wife and par­ents, Robert was also pre­ceded in death by a son: Robert L. Bour Jr.

Me­mo­rial ser­vices, con­ducted by Frank McFad­den will be held Fri­day, April 29, 2 p.m. at Crouch Fu­neral Home, P.A., 127 South Main St., North East, MD, where the fam­ily will re­ceive guests be­gin­ning at 1 p.m.
