Shop With a Cop fundraiser set for April 26

— Start help­ing needy fam­i­lies have Christ­mas in Ce­cil County now by din­ing at Chick-fil-A on Tues­day.

Shop With a Cop Ce­cil County gets a per­cent­age of ev­ery meal sold be­tween 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The money will be used in De­cem­ber to give less for­tu­nate chil­dren the op­por­tu­nity to pur­chase gifts they oth­er­wise may not re­ceive.

The lo­cal char­i­ta­ble ef­fort has grown quickly in only four years.

This past hol­i­day sea­son, 74 chil­dren from 38 fam­i­lies in need were brought to the North East Wal­mart for a per­sonal shop­ping spree cour­tesy of law en­force­ment agen­cies and do­na­tions from the com­mu­nity. The year be­fore, the pro­gram served 61 chil­dren, more than two times the num­ber served in 2013.
