In­di­ans sweep Fall­ston in dou­ble header


North East swept a pair of games against visiting Fall­ston in Susque­hanna Di­vi­sion soft­ball action on Mon­day, top­ping the Cougars 10-6 in the opener, be­fore earn­ing an 11-4 vic­tory in Game 2.

Jess Cho­plin­sky earned a com­plete-game vic­tory from the cir­cle in Game 1, al­low­ing seven hits and four walks with five strike­outs for the In­di­ans (12-2 over­all, 12-0 di­vi­sion), while Mor­gan Sar­gent (two runs, RBI), Cho­plin­sky (dou­ble, RBI, run) and Paige Ye­d­i­nak (RBI, run) all had two hits.

Olivia Martin and Molly Dill both con­trib­uted a dou­ble and a run, while both Emily Jones and Kait­lyn Stewart sin­gled and scored in the vic­tory.

In Game 2, Dill went the dis­tance from the cir­cle, strik­ing out 13 bat­ters with one run on five hits, while of­fen­sively, she went 3-5 with three RBIs and a run scored.

Stewart (RBI) and Cho­plin­sky (two RBIs) both home­red, while Martin (two runs) and Ye­d­i­nak (run) each picked up three hits for North East, which re­ceived a sin­gle from Kasey Bar­row and one run each from Palmer Stewart (two hits), Sar­gent (sin­gle) and Jones (sin­gle).

The Cougars fall to 6-8 over­all and 6-6 in the lower di­vi­sion.

Ea­gles win big

Bo­hemia Manor de­feated host North Har­ford 21-0 in five in­nings in Ch­e­sa­peake Di­vi­sion soft­ball action on Mon­day.

Mor­gan Mullin (three runs) tripled, dou­bled and added two RBIs, Tay­lor Ab­sha­gen (two runs) dou­bled twice with three RBIs and Anna Tid­aback (four hits) drove in three runs on three triples with two runs scored for the Ea­gles (11-3 over­all, 7-3 di­vi­sion), who re­ceived a triple and two RBIs from Zoe Lock­wood, three RBIs and three runs scored from Melinda Mor­gan and an RBI from Kather­ine Jones.

Me­gan Horsey and Kayla McNeal both scored three times and Abi­gail Heath added an RBI in the vic­tory. Ab­sha­gen picked up the win, throw­ing a com­plete game, while al­low­ing one hit, one walk and one hit by pitch with eight strike­outs.

The Hawks fall to 9-5 over­all and 6-5 in the up­per di­vi­sion.

Elks take down Rams

Elk­ton up­ended visiting Edge­wood 11-1 in Susque­hanna Di­vi­sion soft­ball action on Mon­day.

The Golden Elks im­prove to 3-11 over­all and 3-10 in the Susque­hanna.

The Rams fall to 4-9 over­all and 4-8 in the lower di­vi­sion. UCBAC Base­ball Elks fall short

Elk­ton fell to host Pat­ter­son Mill 4-2 in Ch­e­sa­peake Di­vi­sion base­ball action on Mon­day.

Nick Greg­son threw four in­nings, rack­ing up eight strike­outs, while al­low­ing two hits and a run scored for the Golden Elks (4-10 over­all, 3-9 di­vi­sion), who re­ceived an RBI triple and a sin­gle from Solomon Har­ris, an RBI sin­gle from Kyle Spencer and a sin­gle and a run scored from An­thony Alexan­der.

Max El­liott (RBI) went 2-3 with a pair of dou­bles, Nick Cress added a triple and a run scored and Jake Sheeshely added an RBI for the Huskies (10-2, 10-1), who turned three dou­ble plays on de­fense.

Ea­gles shut out War­riors

Bo­hemia Manor shut out visiting Havre de Grace 6-0 in Susque- hanna Di­vi­sion base­ball action on Mon­day.

Tyler Fer­gu­son had two hits, in­clud­ing a dou­ble, while Josh Heath, Cage Walk­lett, Bryan Bell and Bo Matherly all had hits for the Ea­gles (12-1 over­all, 10-1 di­vi­sion).

Heath threw six in­nings of shutout base­ball to pick up the win on the mound, fin­ish­ing with six strike­outs and two hits, while Bell hurled the fi­nal frame with one strike­out and no hits.

The War­riors fall to 3-10 over­all and 2-8 in the lower di­vi­sion.

Private School Girls’ Soc­cer Cru­saders shut out by Ti­tans

Tri-State Chris­tian fell to visiting Tome 5-0 in MIL girls’ soc­cer action on Mon­day. The Ti­tans led 4-0 at half­time. Abby McAn­drews had nine saves for the Cru­saders (2-4-1 over­all, 1-2 MIL).
