Ea­gles beat Edge­wood, clinch Susque­hanna Divi­sion crown

For just the sec­ond time in pro­gram his­tory, the Bo­hemia Manor base­ball team has won the Susque­hanna Divi­sion.

The Ea­gles cap­tured the low­er­di­vi­sion crown fol­low­ing a 4-1 vic­tory over host Edge­wood on Wed­nes­day.

“Ev­ery year that’s our first goal that we try to at­tain: The Susque­hanna Divi­sion. It’s tough to win that just be­cause you have 2A and 3A schools in there,” Ea­gles coach Gary John­son said. “We’re pretty ex­cited to reach our first goal.”

Bo Matherly recorded a pair of RBIs, while Dil­lon McFar­lin and Josh Malin drove in one run each for Bo Manor (13-2 over­all, 11-0 divi­sion).

Will Lor­man threw a com­plete game from the mound, al­low­ing three hits with five strike­outs for the Ea­gles.

The Rams fall to 8-6 over­all and 6-5 in the lower divi­sion.

Pan­thers fall short vs. Aberdeen

Per­ryville fell to vis­it­ing Aberdeen 3-2 in Susque­hanna Divi­sion base­ball ac­tion on Wed­nes­day.

Brady Krahn (run) and Gun­ther Prevost both recorded RBIs for the Pan­thers (6-8 over­all, 6-6 divi­sion), who trailed 3-1 en­ter­ing the sev­enth in­ning.

An­drew Brnd­jar al­lowed two earned runs on four hits and one walk with seven strike­outs over seven in­nings for the Ea­gles (9-5, 9-2), who re­ceived one RBI each from Sam Smith, Jake Mur­dock and Dy­lan Mar­i­ano.

In­di­ans blank Warriors

North East shut out host Havre de Grace 5-0 in Susque­hanna Divi­sion base­ball ac­tion on Wed­nes­day.

Cameron Blanken­ship threw a com­plete game, giv­ing up three hits and struck out seven for the In­di­ans (8-7 over­all, 5-6 divi­sion), who scored five runs on three hits.

Blanken­ship and Colt Price both de­liv­ered sac­ri­fice flies on of­fense, while Patrick O’Brien added an RBI sin­gle in the vic­tory.

The Warriors slip to 3-11 over­all and 2-9 in the lower divi­sion.

Elks shut out Hawks

Elk­ton de­feated vis­it­ing North Har­ford 5-0 in Ch­e­sa­peake Divi­sion base­ball ac­tion on Mon­day.

Kyle Spencer went the dis­tance on the mound, scat­ter­ing three hits with seven strike­outs, while at the dish he de­liv­ered a two-RBI dou­ble for the Golden Elks (510 over­all, 4-9 divi­sion), who re­ceived two dou­bles, a run scored and an RBI from Solomon Har­ris and two hits each from Nick Greg­son, Troy Cher­waty and Dakota Hodg­son.

Matt Coy added a sin­gle, scored and reg­is­tered an RBI in the vic­tory.

The Hawks fall to 8-7 over­all and 6-7 in the up­per divi­sion.

Tigers fall to Huskies

Ris­ing Sun fell to host Pat­ter­son Mill 9-3 in Ch­e­sa­peake Divi­sion base­ball ac­tion on Wed­nes­day.

Aaron Richard­son went 1-3 with a dou­ble and a run scored and Phil Lyons added a dou­ble and a run, while Jack Ste­wart and Noah Juer­gens both recorded two hits and an RBI for the Tigers (6-9 over­all, 5-8 divi­sion).

Ja­cob Michael (three runs) fin­ished 3-3 with a home run, a triple, two walks, two RBIs and two stolen bases for the Huskies (112, 11-1), who re­ceived two RBIs from Jack Sheesley and one RBI and two runs each from Max El­liott (stolen base) and Nick Cress (two stolen bases). Molly Dill earned the win in a com­plete-game ef­fort, scat­ter­ing four hits while strik­ing out 13 for the In­di­ans (13-2 over­all, 13-0 divi­sion), who re­ceived a three-run home run and two runs scored from both Paige Ye­d­i­nak and Olivia Martin.

Rachel Ward went 3-3 with an RBI and Kait­lyn Ste­wart added two hits and two runs, while Ash­ley Potts, Kaylea Palmer-Ste­wart and Mor­gan Sar­gent (run) all sin­gled in the vic­tory.

The Warriors fall to 9-6 over­all and 9-4 in the lower divi­sion.

Ea­gles down Mus­tangs

Bo­hemia Manor topped host C.M. Wright 6-2 in Ch­e­sa­peake Divi­sion soft­ball ac­tion on Wed­nes­day.

Rachel Jones (RBI) and Aubrey Heath both had two hits and a run scored, while Mor­gan Mullin (RBI), Anna Tid­aback and Me­gan Horsey (two RBIs) all dou­bled and scored once for the Ea­gles (12-3 over­all, 8-3 divi­sion), who re­ceived one hit each from Zoe Lock­wood and Tay­lor Ab­sha­gen.

From the cir­cle, Ab­sha­gen threw a com­plete game, al­low­ing three hits and three walks, while strik­ing out three for the vic­tory.

The Mus­tangs fall to 10-4 over­all and 7-4 in the up­per divi­sion.

Youth Soc­cer U-11 Girls’ Soc­cer Kirk­wood Academy 3, Ce­cil 2

The Ce­cil Dy­na­mite fell to Kirk­wood Academy 3-2 in youth soc­cer ac­tion on Satur­day.

Paige Racine and Au­tumn Wal­ston recorded goals for Ce­cil (2-2), while Bella Rit­ten­house dished out an as­sist.

Pey­ton Hill recorded seven saves in the net for the Dy­na­mite.

Ce­cil 2, GVSCA 1

Ce­cil re­bounded for a win on Sun­day, top­ping the GVSCA Chee­tahs 2-1.

Tori Pierce scored twice off of as­sists from Amelia Ga­tusso and Olan­re­waju Famik­inwa for Ce­cil, which re­ceived strong de­fense from Ga­tusso, Colleen Nelsen and So­phie Cease and five saves in net from Hill.
