Mary Mar­garet Thomp­son, age 61, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Fri­day, April 22, 2016 at the University Of Mary­land Up­per Ch­e­sa­peake Med­i­cal Cen­ter, sur­rounded by her lov­ing fam­ily. She was born March 26, 1954, in Buf­falo, NY, to the late Matthew and Su­san (Golya) En­goglia.

Mary Mar­garet grew up in Buf­falo, NY. A grad­u­ate of the University of Delaware with a BA Cum Laude, in Wildlife Man­age­ment, she loved all an­i­mals and had a pas­sion for Ir­ish Set­ters and Ha­vanese, which she bred, and had many Blue Rib­bon Win­ners in the lin­eage. One of her dogs, “Au­drey”, an Ir­ish Set­ter, even won best in show in the pres­ti­gious West­min­ster Dog Show. She ful­filled her life­long dream of open­ing a ken­nel when she opened Rain­wood Ken­nels in Elkton, MD, which was voted Best in Ce­cil County by Ce­cil Fa­vorites. A per­son with a great sense of hu­mor and al­ways happy, Mary Mar­garet was said to be gen­er­ous, car­ing and kind, “al­ways able to see the good in ev­ery­one”.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band, the Hon­or­able Dex­ter M. Thomp­son, Jr., Ret.; her daugh­ter, Tay­lor Thomp­son, of Elkton, MD; grand­chil­dren, Melody and Gauge Roache; her brother, James En­goglia, LTC US Army Ret., and his wife, Mary, of Ar­ling­ton, VA; and her dogs, Troy, Uno, Abby and Tanzy.

A Cel­e­bra­tion of Life will be held at 11AM on Satur­day, May 7, 2016, at Trin­ity Episcopal Church, 105 Bridge Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Friends and fam­ily may visit one hour prior, be­gin­ning at 10AM. Burial will be held pri­vately.
