Richard “Dick” Howard Campbell
Richard “Dick” Howard Campbell, 91 of Rising Sun, MD, died Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the Calvert Manor Healthcare Center, Rising Sun, MD.
Born in Farmington, MD, on September 19, 1924, he was the son of Gilbert C. and Mary J. (Holland) Campbell. He served during World War II in the U S Navy as a Seabee and was in the invasion of the Philippines.
Dick, a Gideon, was a life member of American Legion Mason Dixon Post 194 Rising Sun, MD.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting, especially rabbits! In his younger years he coached Rising Sun Little League.
Before his retirement he was an Electrician, employed by Perry Point VA Medical Center.
Survived by his wife of 56 years: Peggy A. Campbell and three sons: Richard Campbell of Perryville, KY, Edward Inman of Reedsville, NC, and Keith Campbell of Rising Sun, MD. Dick also has 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Friends and family may call Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm.
Interment with full military honors will follow in Brookview Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD.
