4 things to do this week
Take art outdoors Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area will host Art in the Park in select locations from dusk to dawn this Monday through Thursday and May 9-12. On these days, artists may drive to select scenic restricted areas throughout the park and create.
The program is free, but parking fees of $3 for in-state and $5 for out-of-state vehicles will be in effect. Registration and daily check-in is also required. For more information, call the park office at 410-398-1246 or email lesley.leader@ maryland.gov. There will be a ranger-led location preview at 10 a.m. on Monday starting from the N. Appleton Road Lot.
Celebrate the Woman’s Club The annual birthday luncheon for the Woman’s Club, a Cecil County organization for more than 100 years, is this Wednesday at The Granary. All women are invited to attend. Tickets are $24 per person and include an entree and non-alcoholic beverage. If you are interested in attending, call 410-398-9598.
Express yourself The annual “Expressions of Healing” gallery show from Upper Bay Counseling & Support Services returns to the Cecil County Arts Council on Main Street in Elkton for this First Friday. The exhibit includes works by those who participate with Upper Bay Counseling as a celebration of May as Mental Health Awareness Month. There will be a free, family-friendly gallery opening celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday. Live entertainment and refreshments will be available.
Treat mom to the theater Cecil Dance Theatre performs “Cinderella” at the Milburn Stone Theatre in North East at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in celebration of Mother’s Day. This will really be an event for the whole family. All moms who attend will receive a gift bag filled with treats and coupons valued at over $300. And all children will be able to join cast members onstage 15 minutes prior to each performance for a dance party.
