Panthers softball remains perfect with win over Elks
Perryville remained undefeated on the season with a 17-0 non-divisional victory in five innings over visiting Elkton on Monday.
Lydia Hill turned in a monster day, knocking in five runs and scoring three times on three hits, including a double, while Nicole DiGiambattista (home run), Nikki Hill (run) and Sierra Johnson (double, three runs) all drove in two runs for the Panthers (16-0), who received one RBI each from Karly White and Brooke Reynolds.
Lydia Hill and starter Emily Phillips combined to throw five scoreless innings from the circle, striking out six and allowing three hits and one walk.
The Golden Elks fall to 4-13 overall.
Eagles edge Titans
Bohemia Manor extended its late-season winning streak to eight games with a 5-3 non-conference win over Tome at Chesapeake Little League on Monday.
Taylor Abshagen allowed two earned runs in a complete game from the circle, scattering seven hits and three walks to go along with 10 strikeouts for the Eagles (14-3), who receved two hits, including a double, and an RBI from Rachel Jones.
Morgan Mullin doubled and scored, Anna Tidaback recorded an RBI triple and scored and Melinda Morgan singled and scored twice in the victory, while Megan Horsey added an RBI single and Kayla McNeal also drove in a run.
UCBAC Girls’ Lacrosse Panthers pounce Indians
Perryville defeated host North East 19-11 in Susquehanna Division girls’ lacrosse action on Monday.
The Panthers (9-1 over- all, 5-0 division) were led by eight goals from Sydnie Bjork and four goals and five assists from Taylor Poore.
Bea Muscella recorded four goals and two assists, Veronica DiFuccia scored twice, Jordan Justice and Didem Akbay each scored once and Claire Hudson added an assist in the victory, while Cali Tyson and Abby Jones made nine and five saves, respectively.
Brianna Christie led the Indians (8-6, 4-4) with five goals and an assist and Amy O’Dell recorded a hat trick, while Maria Shamblin scored twice and Mackensie Kilby added a goal.
Tigers down Eagles
Rising Sun defeated visiting Bohemia Manor 15-2 in Susquehanna Division girls’ lacrosse action on Monday.
Liz Zatalava paced the Tigers (7-3 overall, 5-2 division) with two goals and two assists and Emily Fanning recorded a hat trick, while Heather Amos had two goals and an assist and Logan Alexander added one of each.
Maggie Palfi, Kaitlyn Shivery, Lorie Bowman, Cayley Hall, Jess Borchardt and Marie Ziegler all scored once for Rising Sun, while Julia Boris added an assist.
The Eagles fall to 0-10 overall and 0-7 in the lower division.
UCBAC Boys’ Lacrosse Elks topple Titans
Elkton defeated visiting Tome 15-5 in non-conference boys’ lacrosse action on Monday.
The Golden Elks improve to 7-3 overall.
Private School Girls’ Soccer Crusaders earn win
Tri- State Christian defeated host Arlington Babtist 6- 0 in non- conference private school girls’ soccer on Monday.
Taber Epley recorded a hat trick and dished out one assist and Holly Van Vorhis added two goals, while Madie Burrows also found the back of the net for the Crusaders (3-5-1).
