Deadline for VLT grants is June 3
— Applications are now being accepted for fiscal year 2017 Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) Grant Program available through Cecil County government.
County Executive Tari Moore announced Tuesday that the county will be accepting applications until 4:30 p.m. on June 3.
“Funding for the VLT grant program is contingent upon the availability of revenue from Hollywood Casino at Perryville, which comes to the county from the state through a local impact grant,” she noted.
Nonprofit and not-for-profit groups, along with state, county and municipal agencies, are eligible to apply for grant funds, which were established by state law to mitigate the impact from the casino on the local community and resources.
Each applicant must indicate how they plan to use the funding to address needs in the community in categories of public safety, economic, community development, infrastructure, public service projects, or prevention and intervention education programs.
Applications are available at www.ccgov.org, under “forms and permits” listed on the left side of the page, or anyone interest can contact Barbara Smith, chief of the division of community partnerships, at 410-996-8430 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
