Martin’s shoppers aid Ray of Hope
100 hunger relief agencies will receive aid
— Martin’s Food Store recently announced its Bag Hunger campaign resulted in a $2,876 donation to Ray of Hope Mission Center.
The Rising Sun store will be presenting a check to the Port Deposit ministry. Ray of Hope Mission Center aids individuals who reside in western Cecil County, offering short-term assistance to those who are unemployed or need emergency assistance, and long-term assistance to those who are elderly, disabled or working and need supplemental help.
The annual Martin’s fundraiser, which invites customers to make a donation at check out, raised more than $630,000 in March to be distributed to 100 hunger relief agencies in communities where Martin’s stores are located.
In 2015, Martin’s stores and its customers donated $12.3 million in relief to the hungry.
