Elk­ton UMC to host Prov­i­dence Brass Quin­tet

Elk­ton United Methodist Church will host the Prov­i­dence Brass Quin­tet and EUMC Chan­cel Choir at 7 p.m. on Sun­day.

Ad­mis­sion is free, but an of­fer­ing will be taken.

Mem­bers of the Prov­i­dence Brass Quin­tet in­clude:

Bob Castaldi, a grad­u­ate of West Ch­ester Univer­sity and the Univer­sity of Delaware, and the band di­rec­tor at Ris­ing Sun Mid­dle School. He plays trum­pet and percussion and per­forms with var­i­ous bands and artists around the re­gion and trum­pet with the Prov­i­dence Brass.

Rob Hazel, a mu­sic teacher in the Ce­cil County Pub­lic Schools for 35 years who is re­tir­ing in 2012. These days, he en­joys spend­ing time with his wife, daugh­ters and grand­son, per­form­ing with the Elk­ton Town Band and Prov­i­dence Brass, and at­tend­ing re­gional arts per­for­mances.

Sch­nei­der,

a grad­u­ate of Clar­ion State Col­lege who taught el­e­men­tary gen­eral mu­sic in Har­ford and Ce­cil County pub­lic schools. Now re­tired, she plays in the Elk­ton Town Band, sings in the Ce­cil County Choral So­ci­ety and her church choir, and is ac­tive as an ac­com­pa­nist in the lo­cal schools.

Jake Sch­nei­der, a grad­u­ate of Clar­ion State Col­lege and West Ch­ester State Col­lege. He re­tired in 2010, af­ter teach­ing mu­sic in the Ce­cil County Pub­lic Schools for 38 years. In ad­di­tion to Prov­i­dence Brass, he is a reg­u­lar with the Elk­ton Town Band and the Ce­cil County Choral So­ci­ety and is ac­tive in his church choir.

Bruce Tar­bell, a grad­u­ate of Kutz­town Univer­sity and McDaniel Col­lege who teaches math and science at Cherry Hill Mid­dle School. He also plays bass gui­tar and trom­bone and per­forms with the Prov­i­dence Brass, the Elk­ton Town Band and the Ce­cil County Choral So­ci­ety.
