Elkton UMC to host Providence Brass Quintet
Elkton United Methodist Church will host the Providence Brass Quintet and EUMC Chancel Choir at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission is free, but an offering will be taken.
Members of the Providence Brass Quintet include:
Bob Castaldi, a graduate of West Chester University and the University of Delaware, and the band director at Rising Sun Middle School. He plays trumpet and percussion and performs with various bands and artists around the region and trumpet with the Providence Brass.
Rob Hazel, a music teacher in the Cecil County Public Schools for 35 years who is retiring in 2012. These days, he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughters and grandson, performing with the Elkton Town Band and Providence Brass, and attending regional arts performances.
a graduate of Clarion State College who taught elementary general music in Harford and Cecil County public schools. Now retired, she plays in the Elkton Town Band, sings in the Cecil County Choral Society and her church choir, and is active as an accompanist in the local schools.
Jake Schneider, a graduate of Clarion State College and West Chester State College. He retired in 2010, after teaching music in the Cecil County Public Schools for 38 years. In addition to Providence Brass, he is a regular with the Elkton Town Band and the Cecil County Choral Society and is active in his church choir.
Bruce Tarbell, a graduate of Kutztown University and McDaniel College who teaches math and science at Cherry Hill Middle School. He also plays bass guitar and trombone and performs with the Providence Brass, the Elkton Town Band and the Cecil County Choral Society.
The Providence Brass Quintet will perform Sunday at Elkton United Methodist Church.
