Motorcyclist dies in crash near Ches. City
— A motorcyclist from Delaware was killed Thursday morning when he was involved in a collision on Augustine Herman Highway near Bohemia Manor High School.
The name of the man, who died at the scene, has not yet been released.
The wreck was reported just after 9: 30 a. m. in the 2700 block of Augustine Herman Highway.
According to officials at the Maryland State Police’s North East barrack, a 1997 Honda CR- 9 motorcycle was traveling north
on Augustine Herman Highway. Meanwhile, a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck was in the center lane of the highway waiting to turn into the Valero gas station.
For reasons as yet undetermined, the two vehicles collided, police said.
Emergency officials at the scene said the driver of the truck refused medical treatment.
The highway was closed from Basil Avenue to Randalia Road for several hours while investigators cleaned up the crash and performed accident reconstruction.
With the investigation still in progress, no charges have been filed.
