Mo­tor­cy­clist dies in crash near Ches. City

— A mo­tor­cy­clist from Delaware was killed Thurs­day morn­ing when he was in­volved in a col­li­sion on Au­gus­tine Her­man High­way near Bo­hemia Manor High School.

The name of the man, who died at the scene, has not yet been re­leased.

The wreck was re­ported just af­ter 9: 30 a. m. in the 2700 block of Au­gus­tine Her­man High­way.

Ac­cord­ing to of­fi­cials at the Mary­land State Police’s North East bar­rack, a 1997 Honda CR- 9 mo­tor­cy­cle was trav­el­ing north

on Au­gus­tine Her­man High­way. Mean­while, a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck was in the cen­ter lane of the high­way wait­ing to turn into the Valero gas sta­tion.

For rea­sons as yet un­de­ter­mined, the two ve­hi­cles col­lided, police said.

Emer­gency of­fi­cials at the scene said the driver of the truck re­fused med­i­cal treat­ment.

The high­way was closed from Basil Av­enue to Ran­dalia Road for sev­eral hours while in­ves­ti­ga­tors cleaned up the crash and per­formed ac­ci­dent re­con­struc­tion.

With the in­ves­ti­ga­tion still in progress, no charges have been filed.
