— Robert Ashby took the oath of office Tuesday night, marking the start of his two-year term on the Per- ryville Board of Town Commissioners.

Charlene Notarcola, Clerk of the Court for Cecil County, administered the oath to Ashby, then did likewise for Commissioner Ray Ryan and Mayor Jim Eberhardt.

Eberhardt is now in his seventh, and he says likely, final term as mayor. Ryan begins his third term.

The mayor ran unchallenged in the May 10 election. Ryan led the field of three seeking two seats on the board, with Ashby winning the seat left vacant when commissioner Barbara Brown announced she would not seek re-election.
