Foster C. Sha­han

— Foster C. Sha­han, 83, of Milling­ton, MD, passed away on May 16, 2016 at home.

Mr. Sha­han was born on July 10, 1932, son of the late Ho­race and Lulu Dixon Sha­han. He was a life­time resident of Queen Anne’s County where he was a grad­u­ate of Milling­ton High School, Class of 1949. He be­gan his ca­reer with DuPont and was called to duty with the U.S. Army, serv­ing a tour in Ger­many. Af­ter his hon­or­able dis­charge, he con­tin­ued work­ing for DuPont for 20 years, for the next 17 years with Lease­way at Chrysler Corp, and was also an Elec­trolux Sales­man for 30 years.

He most en­joyed work­ing on his farm. Foster was a life mem­ber of the Milling­ton V.F.C. where he had served as pres­i­dent from 1968-1969 and as sec­re­tary. He was a mem­ber of As­bury Methodist Church. He en­joyed play­ing cards, watch­ing West­erns and read­ing.

Along with his par­ents, he is pre­ceded in death by 2 broth­ers, Ho­race and Dixon Sha­han.

Mr. Sha­han is sur­vived by his wife, Bonna Sue Ma­gaw Sha­han; sons, Paul Sha­han (Alice) of Jar­rettsville, MD, John Sha­han (Lisa) of Sal­is­bury, MD, Roger Sha­han of Smyrna, DE and Michael Ma­gaw (Melissa) of Ear­leville, MD; a brother Wil­liam Sha­han of Mid­dle­town, DE; 9 grand­chil­dren and 9 great­grand­chil­dren.

A view­ing will be held on Fri­day, May 20 from 10 am to noon in the Galena Fu­neral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, MD, where fu­neral ser­vice will be­gin at noon. Burial will be held pri­vately.

In lieu of flow­ers, do­na­tions may be of­fered to the Amer­i­can Lung As­so­ci­a­tion, 211 E. Lom­bard St. #260, Bal­ti­more, MD 21202.

In ad­di­tion to her hus­band and par­ents, Pansy was also pre­ceded in death by a son: Richard D. “Doug” Wad­dell; a daugh­ter: Rita L. Jones; and 5 sib­lings: Carl Hol­brook, Lundy Hol­brook, Claude Hol­brook, Mazie Camp­bell and Muriel Stout.

Fu­neral ser­vice, con­ducted by Rev. Charles Ros­siter will be held Satur­day, May 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at Crouch Fu­neral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where vis­i­ta­tion will be­gin at 10:00 am un­til ser­vice time.

In­ter­ment will fol­low ser­vices in Rose­bank Ceme­tery, Ris­ing Sun, MD.

In lieu of flow­ers, the fam­ily re­quest memo­rial do­na­tions to Bald­win UM Church Fire Re­cov­ery Fund, in care of the fu­neral home.
