— Those who at­tended Brew at the Zoo at Plump­ton Park Zoo Satur­day got a rare look at the new Gi­raffe Ed­u­ca­tion Cen­ter.

come the new home of Jim­mie the gi­raffe next month. Once Jim­mie moves in only zoo staff will be al­lowed on that level, La­co­vara said.

The an­nual fundraiser for the 21-and-over crowd in­cluded a buf­fet din­ner, beer and wine, and a souvenir mug. Ap­pro­pri­ately, this year marked Jim­mie’s 21st birth­day. Lo­cal bands Bowl­ing for Karma and Fish­ing for Hip­pies en­ter­tained at­ten­dees.
