Wil­liam Nel­son Rowe, 86, of Colora, MD, died Sun­day, May 29, 2016 at his res­i­dence. Born Sept. 21, 1929 in Bal­ti­more, MD, he was the son of the late Wil­liam G. and El­iz­a­beth S. Her­gen­rather Rowe.

Nel­son was a veteran of the U.S. Navy hav­ing served dur­ing the Korean Con­flict. He was a re­tired En­gi­neer of the former Mor­ton Thiokol Cor­po­ra­tion of Elk­ton, MD. He is sur­vived by his wife, Mary Leuretha Blanken­ship Rowe of Colora, MD; daugh­ter, Leuretha Ju­lianne Gainey; sons, Wil­liam Nel­son Rowe II, Stephen Col­lie Rowe, Thomas An­drew Rowe, and Wil­liam Nel­son Rowe III; seven grand­chil­dren; two great grand­chil­dren; broth­ers, John M. Rowe, David Rowe, Robert Rowe; and sis­ter, Nancy Adair.

Nel­son was pre­ceded in death by his daugh­ter, El­iz­a­beth “Mary Beth” Rowe; sis­ters, Mary Lil­lian Roche­leau and El­iz­a­beth Gio­vanazi.

Fu­neral ser­vices are sched­uled for Satur­day, June 4, 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Per­ryville, MD. Vis­i­ta­tion for fam­ily and friends will be held Fri­day, June 3, 6-8 p.m. at the Lee A. Pat­ter­son & Son Fu­neral Home, P.A., Per­ryville, MD. Fa­ther Jay McKee of Good Shepherd Par­ish, Per­ryville, MD, will of­fi­ci­ate. In­ter­ment will be in St. Mark’s Ceme­tery, Per­ryville, MD.
