Doyle Wilson, 72, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016. Born in Tennessee on Oct. 5, 1943, he was the son of John and Georgia Wilson.
He was a construction worker and later worked for the Cecil County Public School system.
Doyle was a kind and gentle man who loved gardening and enjoyed sharing his harvest with others.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Pfeiffer Wilson, and siblings Robert, Alpha, George, Crockett, Rowena, Ronald, Venus and Nancy, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be private.
Ches. City to hold candidate forum Thursday
— Town voters who have not made up their minds in the June 6 municipal election will have a good chance to meet and talk with the two mayoral and four council candidates Thursday.
A forum is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 450 3rd St., where voters can hear from Mayor Dean Geracimos and his challenger, Councilman Frank Vari. Also invited to participate are incumbent councilmen Tom Morris and Harry Sampson and their challengers Bill Staker and Joe MacDonald.
Polls will be open Monday from 1 to 7:30 p.m. at town hall on the south side and the Chesapeake City fire hall on the north side. Coincidentally, it is the same day that work is scheduled to begin on the Chesapeake City Bridge.
