Kathy Simmons Hardin, 61, of Elkton, MD, passed away May 31, 2016 in Rising Sun, MD.
Visitation will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A. in Elkton on Friday, June 3rd, from 2-3 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A. in Elkton on June 3, from 3-4 p.m. with Pastor, Stephen Nissley (Mercy Missionary Baptist Church) and Pastor Jamey D. Grooms (Maranatha Baptist Church) officiating. Burial will follow at Elkton Cemetery. R.T. Foard Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.
Kathy was born in Elkton to Richard and Louise Simmons on July 18, 1954. She graduated from Elkton High School in 1972. She was a homemaker, worked as a CNA and enjoyed working at her job with W.L. Gore. She liked country music, her favorite singers was George Straight and Alan Jackson. She enjoyed going to church, going to the beach, watching the Orioles play, shopping and spending time with her family.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father Richard Blackson Simmons Sr.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kathy Miller and Husband Luke Miller of Fleetwood, NC, Elizabeth Miller and Fiancé Keith Shiles of Elkton, MD, Mother Louise Simmons of Elkton, Brother Richard (Rick) Blackson Simmons Jr. and Fiancé Patty Milton of Palm Coast, FL, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two Nephews and Several Aunts and Uncles also survive.
Flowers are accepted or memorial donations may be made payable to the America Cancer Society and sent care of the R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Joseph Mackie. Beverly was also preceded in death by her brother William Mackay, leaving behind a son, William Mackay Jr. She is survived by her sister Carol Mackay Mertz of Fort Valley, VA and husband Walter Mertz, Jr., along with their three sons: Walter Mertz III, his wife Danette and daughter Maddie Kay, Jonathan Mertz, and Andrew Mertz, and his wife Annie.
Our family would like to especially thank Dr. Jose‘ Ma of Union Hospital for his years of skillful and gracious care. We have a deep and profound appreciation for his devotion to the health of our mother.
A viewing will be held Monday evening, June 6 at Rock Presbyterian Church, 30 Rock Church Rd, Elkton, MD 21921 from 6-8 p.m. A Service in celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at Rock Presbyterian Church on Tuesday June 7, 2016 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dave Rash officiating.
