Kathy Simmons Hardin, 61, of Elk­ton, MD, passed away May 31, 2016 in Ris­ing Sun, MD.

Visi­ta­tion will be held at R.T. Foard Fu­neral Home, P.A. in Elk­ton on Fri­day, June 3rd, from 2-3 p.m. Fu­neral Ser­vice will be held at R.T. Foard Fu­neral Home, P.A. in Elk­ton on June 3, from 3-4 p.m. with Pas­tor, Stephen Niss­ley (Mercy Mis­sion­ary Bap­tist Church) and Pas­tor Jamey D. Grooms (Maranatha Bap­tist Church) of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will fol­low at Elk­ton Ceme­tery. R.T. Foard Fu­neral Home is han­dling the fu­neral ar­range­ments.

Kathy was born in Elk­ton to Richard and Louise Simmons on July 18, 1954. She grad­u­ated from Elk­ton High School in 1972. She was a home­maker, worked as a CNA and en­joyed work­ing at her job with W.L. Gore. She liked coun­try mu­sic, her fa­vorite singers was Ge­orge Straight and Alan Jack­son. She en­joyed go­ing to church, go­ing to the beach, watch­ing the Ori­oles play, shop­ping and spend­ing time with her fam­ily.

Kathy is pre­ceded in death by her fa­ther Richard Black­son Simmons Sr.

Sur­vivors in­clude her two daugh­ters, Kathy Miller and Hus­band Luke Miller of Fleet­wood, NC, El­iz­a­beth Miller and Fi­ancé Keith Shiles of Elk­ton, MD, Mother Louise Simmons of Elk­ton, Brother Richard (Rick) Black­son Simmons Jr. and Fi­ancé Patty Mil­ton of Palm Coast, FL, four grand­chil­dren, two great grand­chil­dren, two Neph­ews and Sev­eral Aunts and Un­cles also sur­vive.

Bev­erly was also pre­ceded in death by her brother Wil­liam Mackay, leav­ing be­hind a son, Wil­liam Mackay Jr. She is sur­vived by her sis­ter Carol Mackay Mertz of Fort Val­ley, VA and hus­band Wal­ter Mertz, Jr., along with their three sons: Wal­ter Mertz III, his wife Danette and daugh­ter Mad­die Kay, Jonathan Mertz, and An­drew Mertz, and his wife An­nie.

Our fam­ily would like to es­pe­cially thank Dr. Jose‘ Ma of Union Hos­pi­tal for his years of skill­ful and gra­cious care. We have a deep and pro­found ap­pre­ci­a­tion for his de­vo­tion to the health of our mother.

A view­ing will be held Mon­day evening, June 6 at Rock Pres­by­te­rian Church, 30 Rock Church Rd, Elk­ton, MD 21921 from 6-8 p.m. A Ser­vice in cel­e­bra­tion of Bev­erly’s life will be held at Rock Pres­by­te­rian Church on Tues­day June 7, 2016 at 11 a.m., with Pas­tor Dave Rash of­fi­ci­at­ing.
