Justin T. Pearce, 37 of Townsend, DE passed away on June 23, 2016. Justin was born on April 23, 1979, son of William P. Pearce and Cather­ine Fry. He leaves be­hind his wife of 12 years, Marissa S. Pearce; mother, Cather­ine Fry Pearce of Wilm­ing­ton, DE; fa­ther and step-mother, William and Au­drey Pearce of Ce­cil­ton, MD; brothers Zachary Pearce (Robin) of Townsend, DE and Chris Pearce of Elkton and sis­ters, Jill Truitt (Michael) of Ber­lin, MD, and Wendy Sun (Luis) of Sal­is­bury, MD.

Justin was raised in Ce­cil­ton, MD and later moved to Chester County, PA, where he grad­u­ated from Unionville Chadds Ford High School, class of 1997. He earned a B.S in Bi­ol­ogy (2001) and a Master’s in Agron­omy (2005) from Uni­ver­sity of Mary­land.

Upon grad­u­a­tion Justin worked for the State’s Agron­omy Of­fice at the Uni­ver­sity of Mary­land and in 2006 be­gan work for Mon­santo in Galena. He was an avid hunter and out­doors man. He was an ex­tremely coura­geous and in­tel­li­gent man with an amaz­ing sense of hu­mor and en­ergy for life matched by no one. He loved his fam­ily and friends with all that he had to give and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

A view­ing will be held on Tues­day, June 28 from 6-9 p.m. in Galena Fu­neral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena MD. Fu­neral ser­vice will be held on Wed­nes­day, June 29 at 11am in Zion United Methodist Church, Ce­cil­ton, MD. Burial will fol­low in Bethel Ceme­tery, Ch­e­sa­peake City, MD.

In lieu of flow­ers, memo­ri­als may be of­fered to Brain Can­cer Re­search at Johns Hop­kins Hos­pi­tal. Please re­fer to the website below for more de­tails.
