Elaine Bowls­bey, 75, of Elkton, MD, passed away Satur­day, June 25, 2016.

Born in Elkton on Au­gust 9, 1940, she was the daugh­ter of the late Sa­muel and Grace Clough Nickle.

A home­maker, Mrs. Bowls­bey had worked as a cashier at Wal­greens. She en­joyed be­ing with her fam­ily, flower gar­den­ing and reading.

Sur­vivors in­clude her hus­band of 57 years, James C. Bowls­bey, Jr.; chil­dren, James Bowls­bey III (JoAnn), Airville, PA, Sam Bowls­bey, Sr. and Steven Bowls­bey (Angie), all of Elkton, MD and Mary Wass­mer, Ear­leville, MD; brother, Don­nie Nickle (Myra), Sum­merville, SC; six grand­chil­dren and three great grand­chil­dren.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Mrs. Bowls­bey was pre­ceded in death by a brother, Robert Nickle.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be held 11 a.m., Thurs­day, June 30, 2016 at Hicks Home for Fu­ner­als, 103 W. Stock­ton St., Elkton with vis­i­ta­tion be­gin­ning at 10 a.m. In­ter­ment will be in Union Ceme­tery.

He was pre­de­ceased by his wife Grace in 2001 and a daugh­ter Vir­ginia in 2002.
