Gary Chatham, 66, of Conowingo, MD, passed away peace­fully, sur­rounded by his fam­ily on June 26, 2016. Born on March 2, 1950, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Jeanne (Hann) Chatham.

Gary was a car­pen­try teacher for 32 years at the Ce­cil County School of Tech­nol­ogy re­tir­ing in 2008. He was also a pri­vate pilot and was a mem­ber of sev­eral fly­ing clubs, in par­tic­u­lar, Short Wing Piper Fly­ing Club. Gary greatly en­joyed trav­el­ing, horse­back rid­ing, gar­den­ing, and wood­work­ing. He will be dearly missed by his fam­ily and many friends.

Gary is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife of 12 years, Denise Chatham; daugh­ter, Char­lotte Grabowski and her part­ner, David Reaser; step-chil­dren: Ellwood Warren and An­gela Hagerty and her hus­band, Thomas; grand­chil­dren: Re­becca Grabowski, Sierra Chaney, Sofie Hagerty, Ethan Warren, Jes­se­lyn Warren, Cam­rin Warren, and Emmy Warren; and sis­ters: Janet Matthews and Peggy Shock­ley and her hus­band, Ed­win.

A ser­vice will be held in Gary’s honor at 7 p.m. on Fri­day, July 1 at R.T. Foard Fu­neral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Ris­ing Sun, MD 21911, where friends and fam­ily may visit be­gin­ning at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flow­ers, me­mo­rial con­tri­bu­tions may be made payable to Sea­sons Hos­pice and sent care of the fu­neral home.
