Elkton wins big in se­nior softball

Elkton de­feated Havre de Grace 22-0 in five in­nings to open se­nior softball ac­tion at Per­ryville Lit­tle League on Mon­day.

Pitch­ers Rea­gan Con­nell and Sum­mer Simp­son com­bined to throw a no-hit­ter, while Elkton used a 10-run first in­ning to fuel its vic­tory.

Amanda Simp­son had four hits, in­clud­ing a home run, and four runs scored, while Cierra Young and Han­nah Miller both crossed the plate three times for Elkton.

Elkton ad­vanced to face Per­ryville on Tues­day.

Ma­jor Softball Elkton blanks North East

Elkton de­feat North East 10-0 in five in­nings in ma­jor softball ac­tion at Ch­e­sa­peake City Lit­tle League on Mon­day.

Au­tumn Simp­son tripled, sin­gled and scored, Sierra Secor sin­gled three times, walked and scored twice and Caro­line Miller reached base twice and scored twice for Elkton, which re­ceived two runs scored from Ains­ley Jack­son and one run each from Azarea Visser, Tay­lor Pierce and Cy­nia Bray­wood.

Mikayla Oals reached base twice and Emily Mro­zowski sin­gled for Per­ryville.

Elkton ad­vanced to face host Ch­e­sa­peake City on Tues­day, while North East will bat­tle Havre de Grace on Tues­day.
