Sara Louise Aiken “Sally”, 79, of Ce­cil­ton, MD, passed away Tues­day, June 28, 2016.

She was born in Wood­stown, NJ, on Feb. 16, 1937, the daugh­ter of the late Her­bert and Sara Smal­ley Moore. Sally was a grad­u­ate of Mid­dle­town High School. She worked for White Brothers Sup­ply/ Hoober Inc. for 33 years. She was a mem­ber of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in War­wick, MD. She en­joyed sewing, quilt­ing, puz­zles and gar­den­ing.

She was pre­ceded in death by her sis­ter, Cather­ine Proud, brothers, Jackie and Billy Moore and son-in-law, Keith Fer­gu­son.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band of 60 years, John A. Aiken; son, Jack (Kris) of War­wick and two daugh­ters, Sharyn Fer­gu­son of Elk­ton and San­dra Ford (David) of Merid­ian, MS. She leaves five grand­chil­dren who adored her, Ja­son Dono­van (Danielle), Jen­nifer McDaniel (Ni­cole), Sarah McDaniel, Jack and Sadie Aiken. Dearly loved by their great grand­mother are Ethan, Chloe and Nolan Dono­van and Matthew Hochschild. Cel­e­brat­ing her life, are brothers, Bob Moore (Linda) of Idaho, sis­ters, Bar­bara Wright of Mid­dle­town, DE, El­iz­a­beth Fau­con­niere of Perry, GA, Sharyn Sheets (Lloyd) of Smyrna, DE, brother-in-law, Don­ald Proud and sis­ter-in-law, Ann Moore.

A visi­ta­tion will be held on Thurs­day, July 7 from 11 to 12 p.m. in the Galena Fu­neral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where fu­neral ser­vice will be­gin at 12 p.m. Burial will be pri­vate.

In lieu of flow­ers, the fam­ily sug­gests con­tri­bu­tions to Mt. Olivet UMC, P.O. Box 15, War­wick, MD 21912 or Hacks Point Fire Co., 1185 Glebe Road, Ear­leville, MD 21919. Homes and Cre­ma­to­rium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings High­way, Lewes, DE. Burial will fol­low the mass at St. Peter’s Ceme­tery, Pilot­town.
