Grace Ellen Atkin­son, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away sur­rounded by fam­ily, on June 29, 2016. She was 77.

Mrs. Atkin­son was born in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Dock Ellswor th John­son and Emma Florence David. She was the wife of the late Robert Stan­ley Atkin­son for 19 years, and lov­ing com­pan­ion of Hunter Gil­ley. Mrs. Atkin­son was the lov­ing mother of Don­ald Wayne Bowlen and his wife Teri, of Perryville, MD; Trenice “Terrie” Louise Moats and her hus­band Paul, of Wool­rich, PA, Tina Marie Work­man and her hus­band Eric, of Osh Kosh, WI; Nina Nanette Min­gle­dorff and her fi­ancé Andy Clarke, of Airville, PA; and Regina Florence Horn­berger and her hus­band Greg, of Conowingo, MD. She was the adored grand­mother of 11, great-grand­mother of 11, and dear sis­ter of Henry Joe Pisegna and his wife Carol.

Mrs. Atkin­son loved to sew and play cards. She was an avid baker, cook, and gar­dener. She en­joyed watch­ing soap op­eras, es­pe­cially the The Young & The Rest­less and the Golden Girls. Most of all, she loved be­ing with her chil­dren, grand­chil­dren and her cats.

A view­ing will be held on Thurs­day, July 7, from 10 a.m. un­til 12 p.m. at Zell­man Fu­neral Home, P.A., 123 S. Wash­ing­ton St., Havre de Grace, MD. Fu­neral ser­vices will be­gin at 12 p.m. Pas­tor Ron Smith will of­fi­ci­ate. In­ter­ment will be held at Harford Me­mo­rial Gar­dens. Pall­bear­ers will be Greg Horn­berger, Matthew Horn­berger, Fer­nando Parker Jr., Don­ald Bowlen, Adam Bowlen, and Henry Joe Pisegna.

In lieu of flow­ers, con­tri­bu­tions may be made to Alzheimer’s As­so­ci­a­tion, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Ti­mo­nium, MD 21093.

Fu­neral ser­vices are sched­uled for Thurs­day, July 7, 11 a.m. at Pleas­ant View Bap­tist Church of Port De­posit, MD. Visi­ta­tion for fam­ily and friends will be held Wednesday, July 6, 6 p.m. un­til 8 p.m. at the church. Pas­tor Dr. Harold Phillips of Pleas­ant View Bap­tist Church will of­fi­ci­ate. In­ter­ment will be in West Not­ting­ham Ceme­tery, Colora, MD.
