Ch­e­sa­peake City cap­tures District 5 Ma­jor Soft­ball crown

Ch­e­sa­peake City earned an 8-6 win over Elkton to cap­ture the District 5 Ma­jor Soft­ball ti­tle at Ch­e­sa­peake City Lit­tle League on Tues­day.

Emily Heath dou­bled, sin­gled and scored twice, Lexi Bar­clay dou­bled and scored twice and Ari­anna Fry sin­gled twice and scored twice, while Olivia McCraw and Emma Martina both sin­gled and scored for Ch­e­sa­peake City, which trailed 5-2 af­ter the first in­ning.

Au­tumn Simp­son walked twice and scored twice, Sierra Secor, Caro­line Miller and Jil­lian Holmes all walked and scored and Grace Ko­erner sin­gled and scored for Elkton. 10-11 Base­ball District 5 Rising Sun 8, Ch­e­sa­peake City 7

Jonathan Stan­ley went 2-for2 with a run and Steven Sny­der added an RBI and scored, while Ma­son McNeill, Con­nor Racine, Cole McCul­lough, AJ Lawrence and Ryan Dav­i­sion all scored for Rising Sun, which re­ceived seven com­bined strike­outs from Matthew Trout and Blake Flaugher on the mound.

Lance Fehlman tal­lied two hits and an RBI and scored three times, Jamie Frazer added an RBI and a run scored and Rob­bie Bur­ris, Devon Blood­sworth and Adien Cullings all scored for Ch­e­sa­peake City, which re­ceived eight com­bined strike­outs from Collings and Bur­ris on the mound. 9-10 Base­ball District 5 Elkton 10, Rising Sun 5

Bran­don Paris drove in a run and scored and Gary Sla­gle scored twice, while Jack­son Lewis and Deavon Jones both scored once for Elkton, which re­ceived four com­bined strike­outs from Sla­gle and Zane Bohn on the mound.

Jared El­dreth dou­bled and scored and Cameron Klotz, Layne Hull, Bradley Di­etz and Dil­lon Good­win all scored once for Rising Sun, which re­ceived two strike­outs on the mound from Hull.

9-10 Soft­ball District 5 Ch­e­sa­peake City 11, Elkton 1

Abby Potts struck out 10 over four in­nings, while giv­ing up one hit and two walks, while at the plate she added a hit and two RBIs for Ch­e­sa­peake City, which ad­vanced to the ti­tle game. Her team later re­ceived two hits and two runs scored from Paige Racine, while Jor­dan Alexan­der drove in Erika Clarke with a dou­ble to end the game.

Made­line Holmes sin­gled and scored for Elkton’s lone run.

Wed­nes­day 10-11 Base­ball District 5 Elkton 12, Ch­e­sa­peake City 2 (five in­nings)

Ja­cob White­man (dou­ble) and Bran­don Uhde both scored and drove in two runs apiece and scored and Jared Nowack, Ricky Brock­ell and Zach Ay­ers all scored twice for Elkton, which re­ceived one run each from Zyrell White, Hunter Roark and Fran­cis Guns.

Brock­ell threw a com­plete game on the mound with four strike­outs.

Ai­den Cullings went 2-for2 with a dou­ble an RBI and a run scored and Devon Blood­sworth added an RBI, while AJ Hoferer scored for Ch­e­sa­peake City, which re­ceived five strike­outs on the mound from Lance Fehlman.

9-10 Base­ball District 5 Havre de Grace 15, Rising Sun 5

Rhys Eder scored three times and Taylor Blevins, Ma­son Waller and Brice Bauer all scored twice for Havre de Grace.

Jared El­dreth dou­bled and scored twice and Cameron Klotz, Luke Trout and Bradley Di­etz all crossed the plate for Rising Sun, which re­ceived three strike­outs on the mound from Klotz.

8-10 Soft­ball District 5 Havre de Grace 15, Rising Sun 4 (five in­nings)

Bri­ana Walls dou­bled, sin­gled three times and scored four runs, Madi­son John­son tripled, dou­bled twice, sin­gled and drove in four runs and Ber­lynn Hynes dou­bles and drove in three runs for Havre de Grace, which re­ceived one RBI each from Kin­sey Mentzer and Natalie Bucci.

Bella Sa­po­rano struck out four bat­ters for Rising Sun.
