David Marvin Brack­ins, 71, of Ris­ing Sun, MD passed away peace­fully Fri­day, July 8, 2016.

Born May 22, 1945 in Bel Air, MD, David was the son of the late Marvin Rowan Brack­ins and the late Opal Faye (Todd) Brack­ins. David grew up in Har­ford County, MD. Fol­low­ing his grad­u­a­tion he joined the United States Navy where he served his coun­try proudly. He was a Civil War en­thu­si­ast and en­joyed rid­ing his mo­tor­cy­cles and drag rac­ing with his brother, Den­nis. David’s most cher­ished time was spent with his fam­ily, es­pe­cially his grand­chil­dren.

David is sur­vived by his four chil­dren, Christy Rohrer and her hus­band, Ryan, John Brack­ins, Cyn­thia Kut­sishin and her hus­band, Alex, and An­gela Mercer and her hus­band, Ted. He is also sur­vived by his ten grand­chil­dren, Lena, Ruby, Henry, El­lis, Is­raella, Azai, Caro­line, Ge­or­gia, Lin­ton, and John; brother, Den­nis Brack­ins and his wife, Sandy; and his sis­ter, Linda Clark.

A ser­vice was held in David’s honor at 2pm Mon­day, July 11, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Ris­ing Sun, MD 21911, where fam­ily and friends were able visit be­gin­ning at 1pm. Burial will fol­low at New Bridge Cemetery. To send con­do­lences please visit www.rt­foard. com.
