Sarah El­iz­a­beth Ja­cobs

Sara El­iz­a­beth Ja­cobs, age 68, passed away Satur­day, July 16, 2016 af­ter a coura­geous bat­tle with leukemia.

Born Au­gust 2, 1947 in Wilm­ing­ton, DE, Sara was a 1965 grad­u­ate of Wilm­ing­ton High School. She worked for many years as a den­tal re­cep­tion­ist and also owned Brant­wood Liquors in Elk­ton, MD with her hus­band, Har­vey. Sara was an avid reader and sports fa­natic with a par­tic­u­lar love for Kobe Bryant. She loved spend­ing time with fam­ily and friends and cher­ished her yearly trips to Aruba.

Pre­ceded in death by her par­ents, Sid­ney and El­iz­a­beth Helms and brother, Frank Helms, she is sur­vived by her hus­band of 47 years, Har­vey; son, Michael (Jill); daugh­ter, Tracy; brother, Charles (Betty Jane); and grand­son, An­drew.

A visi­ta­tion will be 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Tues­day, July 19, 2016 and 10:00 am, Wed­nes­day, July 20, 2016, fu­neral cer­e­mony to be­gin at 11:00 am, all ser­vices will be at Schoen­berg Me­mo­rial Chapel, 519 Philadel­phia Pike, Wilm­ing­ton, DE 19809.

The fam­ily would like to pay spe­cial thanks to the staff at the He­len F. Gra­ham Can­cer Cen­ter and Chris­tiana Hospi­tal, es­pe­cially the staff on 6B.
