Betty Steele Ed­man­son

Betty Steele Ed­man­son, age 91, of Elk­ton, MD, passed away on Wed­nes­day, July 20, 2016. Born in Elk­ton on Oc­to­ber 10, 1924, she was the daugh­ter of the late Gar­rett F. and Katherine Stubbs Steele.

Mrs. Ed­man­son was a grad­u­ate of Bea­com Busi­ness School, Wilm­ing­ton, DE. Prior to own­ing and op­er­at­ing the Ce­cil County Credit Bureau, she had worked at Tri­umph Ex­plo­sives. A life mem­ber of the Ladies Aux­il­iary of Singerly Fire Com­pany, she was also a mem­ber of Amer­i­can Le­gion Ce­cil Post #15 Ladies Aux­il­iary, VFW Post #8175 Ladies Aux­il­iary and Ducks Un­lim­ited.

Sur­vivors in­clude her sons, Wil­liam R. Ed­man­son, Jr. (Jane), Gar­rett S. Ed­man­son (Diane), and Terry Ed­man­son (Lisa); grand­chil­dren, Amy E. Trainer (Ed­ward, II), Laura Ed­man­son (Matt), Lind­sey El­lis, Justin Blanken­ship and Kasey Mae Blanken­ship; and great-grand­chil­dren, Ed­ward III, Ethan and Ri­ley Trainer and Lily Te­jada.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Mrs. Ed­man­son was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band of 59 years, Wil­liam R. Ed­man­son, Sr.

Funeral ser­vice with in­ter­ment in Elk­ton Ceme­tery will be pri­vate.
